Official Results of Vote on Equine Canada’s Proposed By-Laws

The in-person vote of Equine Canada’s proposed Articles of Continuance and amended By-Laws under the new Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (CNCA) was held at the EC Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 27 during the EC Annual Convention, being held March 24-30, in Gatineau, Que. Government of Canada and Equine Canada to Develop National Farm-Level Biosecurity Standard

Equine Canada is working with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) and other partner organizations to develop a farm-level biosecurity standard that will help protect Canada’s equine industry from animal diseases. A national Equine Biosecurity Advisory Committee has been established to develop this voluntary standard that will provide a common approach to preventing and controlling disease in facilities where horses are housed and kept. 2015 Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame Ballot Announced

The Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame is pleased to announce its 2015 ballot. A total of 30 horses and people comprised of 15 Standardbred racing candidates and 15 Thoroughbred racing candidates have been selected to appear on this year’s ballot. Ontario Loses Equestrian Industry Icon, Bruce Brown

We are saddened to announce that long-time horseman Bruce Brown passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 surrounded by his family. Bruce was an avid horseman and spent almost 40 years working and volunteering in the equine industry. In 1977, Bruce and his wife Sandra opened Rouge Hill Stables in Scarborough, ON. where they offered public trail riding, riding lessons and hosted horse shows.
