Your feedback is requested on a national biosecurity standard

Your feedback is needed! The Canadian Food Inspection Agency, in collaboration with other partner organizations including Equine Canada and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, is working to develop a farm and facility-level biosecurity standard that will help protect Canada’s equine industry from animal diseases. Ontario’s equine community is being asked to review the document and provide comments. To review the documents, click HERE.

The Canadian Show Jumping Team finished in fourth place at the CSIO 4* Coapexpan Furusiyya FEI Nations’ Cup, held April 24, 2015 in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. Canadian Eventing Team Awarded Qualification for 2016 Rio Olympic Games

Equine Canada is pleased to confirm that the Canadian Eventing Team has been awarded qualification for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil. Canada received the qualification spot after the FEI announced on April 23 that the French Eventing Team has been disqualified from the Eventing portion of the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy, FRA following the positive test for a Controlled Medication substance from Maxime Levio’s mount, Qalao des Mers. Invitation to participate in equine welfare survey

You are invited to participate in a survey-based study being conducted by an animal behaviour and welfare student at the University of Guelph. This survey has been approved by the Research Ethics Board of the University of Guelph and is being distributed to Canadian horse enthusiasts in order to determine industry prevalence and predominant opinions of horse welfare issues.
