Clean Sport

The OEF strongly promotes clean sport in all equestrian disciplines and advocates an equal playing field for all participants in OEF/EC recognized events to encourage horsemanship, ensure the welfare of horses and maintain and nurture public interest in equestrian events.

The OEF enforces the current Equine Canada medication control rules in the Ontario and ensures that random drug testing takes place at Equine Canada sanctioned competitions held throughout the province. The OEF is responsible for the administration of the national program in Ontario including the hiring of appropriate personnel to act as technicians, assigns technicians to sanctioned competitions in all disciplines from bronze to FEI for the purpose of obtaining urine and/or blood samples for drug testing, and is accountable for the funds collected.

Please visit the Equine Canada Equine Medication Control webpage for regulations, a description of permitted medications and updates.
