Hickstead to be Inducted into Jump Canada Hall of Fame

Toronto, Ontario – Beloved show jumping horse Hickstead will be inducted into the Jump Canada Hall of Fame alongside 10-time Olympian Ian Millar at this year’s Jump Canada Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Gala.  Presented by BMO Financial Group, the seventh annual black-tie event will take place on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at the Liberty Grand in Toronto, ON. In order to assist the Canadian Food Inspection Agency with its effort to eradicate Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) – once commonly referred to as Swamp Fever – and its crippling impact on the Canadian herd, Equine Canada’s Competitions Committee supports show organizers requesting proof of a negative EIA test as a condition of entry. Horse Tests Positive for Vesicular Stomatitis in Las Animas, Colorado August 2, 2012

August 8, 2012 - A horse tested positive for vesicular stomatitis (VS) in Las Animas County, Colorado on August 2, 2012. Vesicular Stomatitis is a reportable disease as per the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), meaning that horse owners must immediately report the presence of any horse suspected of being affected by the disease.
