Horse Day Newsletter AdHorse Day is a free, one-day public event designed to educate people of all ages about horses and provides visitors with the opportunity to experience horses up close and personal.

Toronto Horse Day

Horses and ponies will be trotting back into Toronto on Saturday, June 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Horse Day!

Hosted by the Ontario Equestrian Federation, Toronto Horse Day is a free event that takes place at the Horse Palace at Exhibition Place. Now in its 7th year, it gives horse enthusiasts a chance to learn about horses, meet special guests, explore interactive exhibits and watch riding and driving demonstrations featuring different horse breeds and disciplines.

Activities include:

  • Performances by the stunning Spanish horses from Medieval Times at 12 noon
  • Meet the horses of Toronto Police Services Mounted Unit and tour their stable
  • Paint your dream pony with Breyer Stablemates models in the children’s activity zone
  • Face painters
  • Riding and driving demonstrations featuring Canada’s national horse, exotic Arabian horses, powerful Percheron workhorses, athletic endurance horses and more
  • Meet famous equestrians, including Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame jockey Sandy Hawley and Pan Am Dressage medalist Lorraine Stubbs
  • Awesome draw prizes, including riding lesson packages at Sunnybrook Stables and the Riding Academy at the Horse Palace, tickets to Medieval Times and tickets to the Royal Winter Fair Horse Show
  • Toronto Horse Day is an IGNITE Ontario event, so we will be celebrating the upcoming TORONTO 2015 Pan American Games with demonstrations showcasing the Pan Am Equestrian disciplines of Show Jumping, Dressage and Eventing. Plus, sign banners for the riders who will be represent Canada at the Pan Am Games!

Find a Horse Day event in your community 

The OEF encourages members to host their own Horse Day events on Saturday, June 6 to celebrate horses and educate their community about horses and equestrian activity in Ontario. Whether you are hosting an open house at your barn, planning a day of special activities, or simply inviting a friend to your riding lesson, everyone can get involved to celebrate Horse Day!


Horse Day Activities

Drawing contest

Youth ages 3-16 are invited to enter the Horse Day 2015 National Drawing Contest for the chance to win a pair of tickets to a sold-out equestrian event at the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games, happening July 10-26 in Toronto, Ont.

Everyone who submits an entry to the Horse Day Drawing Contest will be placed into a draw for two tickets to the Pan Am equestrian event of their choice (Dressage, Eventing, or Show Jumping). The winner will be selected at random from all received entries.
